How long does a Brew Defender Reset session last?
Each session lasts one hour. During that time you can move between the wood-fired sauna and cold plunge at your own pace, warming up beside the fire pit between rounds and finishing the experience with a Brew Defender coffee or hot drink.
What should I bring?
To make the most of your reset we recommend bringing:
• Swimwear
• 2 x towels, one for sitting on whilst in the sauna and one for drying afterwards
• A water bottle to stay hydrated
• A dry robe or warm layer for relaxing by the fire afterwards
• Flip flops, sliders or Crocs - the ground is gravel, so this is important!
Optional but nice to have:
• A wool hat or cosy layer for after the plunge.
WHERE DO I CHANGE?
There is a screened off area for privacy underneath The Newport Inn for you to change before the short walk across to the sauna, please note the changing area is a covered outdoor space.
Do I have to use the cold plunge?
Not at all. The cold plunge is completely optional.
Many people love the invigorating feeling it brings, but you are free to enjoy the sauna and relax beside the fire pit if you prefer.
The experience is designed for you to move at your own pace.
Is the cold plunge very cold?

Most people stay in for 10–60 seconds, which is enough to feel the benefits. You can stay for as little or as long as feels comfortable.

What if the weather is bad?
This is an outdoor experience, and the sauna is designed to be enjoyed in all seasons.
In fact, colder weather often makes the contrast between the sauna and cold plunge even better. The wood-fired sauna provides plenty of heat, and the experience can be especially memorable when the air outside is crisp and fresh.
The fire pit is usually lit to create a warm, social space between sauna rounds. However, if weather conditions are particularly wet or windy, the fire may not be lit for safety reasons.
Either way, the sauna remains hot, the plunge refreshing, and the reset experience just as powerful.
Is it safe?
Yes — sauna and cold plunge are widely used wellness practices.
However, if you have any medical conditions such as heart issues, high blood pressure, or are pregnant, we recommend consulting your GP before participating.
Always listen to your body and move between heat and cold at your own pace.
